The Villa Rica district was officially founded on July 28, 1925, located in the highland jungle of Peru's Pasco region. At 1450 masl, with an average temperature of 20°C and moderate year-round rainfall, the conditions are ideal for coffee cultivation.

On these lands, the Schuler family — immigrants from Landek-Tyrol, Austria — have been cultivating specialty coffee for export since 1929, now spanning more than two generations.
