At 40 years old, Nicolaza tried specialty coffee farming for the first time. Her plot holds two high-quality varietals — Geisha and Yellow Caturra. The Marías district is surrounded by flora and fauna, with spectacular waterfalls, ravines and orchids.
Her 2-hectare plot, called Calandro Pampa, is a testament to what technical support and dedication can achieve. Nicolaza and her family credit coffee with transforming their livelihoods, supported by organizations like DEVIDA.
